This promotional software advertises cars from Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, and Merkur from the model year 1988 (when this software was brand new). This is one of the few software packages that is centered around advertising. As a bonus, this software includes a few mini games to play, in which you drive a vehicle in playing modes like Drag Strip, Slalom, and Grand Prix. The racing games are rather dull and the controls are somewhat awkward, but it might be amusing for a quick look. Graphics and sound are primitive (what did you expect from 1987!?) but it's a nice piece of Ford memorabilia from years gone by. Has lots of information and specs on many 1988 Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, and Merkur vehicles (prices in American dollars).
If you like Ford cars, download this to get a cool piece of Ford history. If you like racing games, get a different game for more serious driving action.

The Ford Simulator game is definitely a marvel of its time! I like to think of it as the first need for speed of our time. The sounds are very authentic, ranging from the sound of the engine, to the sound of driving on the road. The game has many tracks and cars to choose from and the overall gameplay is very enticing. One of the things that I like most about the game is the fact that it has different modes of play. You can just drive on the tracks or take the car for a drag race. There are also many different mini games that can be played.
There is however a really bid advertising feel to the game. For released the game for the sole purpose of advertisement. If you can get passed this feeling it is a very enjoyable game. In addition, since there are only so many modes the game does get a little bland after a while and you can lose interest. However if you are a car enthusiast like me then you will enjoy driving the older simulated ford cars around the track and get to experience how they drove. The only other thing that I did not enjoy about this game was the controls. They are a bit funny and will take a little while to get the hang of but again once you get past this little dilemma then you will have fun.
This game to me was definitely a great representation of a driving game of its time. I do like how everything handles and the overall feel of the game. Being an avid gamer and avid car enthusiast this game really appealed to me. So I would recommend this game for someone who likes to play video games a lot and who has a big appreciation for older cars.
In conclusion, I would recommend this game over all because of the feel, the cars and the tracks. I had a lot of fun with this game and I think you would too! To get the chance to drive these older cars because they are not around anymore is a great rush for me. I like the overall graphics of the game they are advanced for back then and the colors as well are great! The tracks are also pretty lifelike and they sort of represent real life tracks of the time. I had the most fun with the drag racing it definitely provides a big rush. This game is definitely worth a download and a try, I know I had a lot of fun with the racing!
