Apogee has a lot of games that has something in it that deals with aliens. In this game, Bio Menace, the earth has been taken over by aliens. Your task is to kill the enemies and to give the earth her freedom back.
The graphics are how we can expect them from Apogee. Nice. Either is the gamplay and the sounds. They're all very good.

Bio Menace is a platform game that was released in 1993 for MS DOS by Apogee Software. In the game, you need to control a CIA officer named Snake Logan in a mission. The game is composed of three episodes: Dr. Mangle’s Lab, the Hidden Lab, and Master Cain. In the different levels, you either need to save people that were going to be victimized by the mutants or defeat a boss from the end of a level. Each level is filled with monsters that you need to defeat before you find the exit to that level. You can avoid the monsters or shoot them. As you go through the different levels in the game, there are also special items that you can pick up to give you additional points or bonuses.
The city is being invaded by monsters and as you were flying above the city to survey what is happening in the city your aircraft crashes in the city which means now you have to go on your foot to get out of the city. Since there are mutants all over the city, it is a difficult task.
At the start of the game, Snake Logan will have a standard gun that uses regular bullets. As you lead him through the game, collecting different power ups and bonuses, the gun can be upgraded to more powerful weapons. He will also be equipped with hand grenades which he can use to blow up monsters. Not all monsters are equal and there are monsters that require more hits to kill than others. There are also mutants that can be killed using specific weapons.
Logan will have eight nodes for his health in the easy mode and even fewer life cells for the difficult mode. This means that he can only sustain a maximum of eight hits depending on the level before he dies. When you die, you need to restart the whole level if you still haven’t found the beacon/ mark post in the middle of the level.
There are secret levels in the game that make the game even more interesting and fun. The bonus levels can be accessed when Snake has collected special gems. The secret levels have a lot of interesting surprises for Snake such as power-ups and additional lives.
Bio menace is an interesting platform game that is packed with action and interesting hidden levels. The game is fun to play, because of the interesting plot and the gameplay.
