In this game, you control a lion (Abmis) that stands on its hind legs. The object is to get all of the potatoes in a level, then pass the level by going out the door. In the meantime there are plenty of hazards to get in Abmis's way. Also, some strategy and thinking is required to navigate around levels.

Only download this if you like run-and-jump type games like Crystal Caves, Mario, etc.

Abmis the Lion is a simple, fun game which can provide entertainment for all, but is more likely to be enjoyed by a younger audience. The gameplay is simple and involves you moving around levels, collecting all of the potatoes and avoiding obstacles and enemies in order to complete the level by going out of the door. Some logical thinking is required, although not much, as the game is grasped fairly quickly and easily.

The graphics of the game are ok, but nothing amazing. The shapes are pretty square and simple, but the cheerful colours and overall fun of the game help you to forget about the mediocre graphics. The game is all about adventure and quick-thinking, running around levels and gathering potatoes to end the level quickly without bringing Abmis to any harm.

My favourite part of the game is the action and excitement. It is very fun and exhilarating to run your lion around the level, avoiding enemies and trying to gather all of the potatoes quickly to complete the level without losing a life. This was one of the first things that struck me about the game – it grabs you from the beginning and entices you to keep playing because despite being slightly repetitive, the quick-paced levels are exciting and involve quick-thinking and strategy.

One of my only criticisms of the game is that it can tend to be slightly repetitive. The levels follow a similar structure of collecting items and avoiding enemies, which tends to get slightly boring after a while. However, this game is still recommended as a quick time-killer and played occasionally for a short period can be very entertaining.

If you do decide to give the game a go, there are a few tips worth remembering. If you can’t figure out the game, don’t struggle on! Watch the demo and you’ll be fine. In addition, always keep an eye on your energy and oxygen levels and your number of lives – you don’t want to run out!

I would definitely recommend this game to others because despite average graphics, the game is fun and is based on an exciting concept which could be expanded later. It is more likely to interest a younger audience than older gamers, and is suitable for novice players. Definitely give this game a try, especially if you are interested in action and puzzle/logic games, and are a fan of games similar to Amis the Lion such as Mario and Luigi and Jazz Jack Rabbit.
