CHAMP Kong is another remake of a good classic game. This time Champ Programming remade the old classic Kong game. The big gorilla hold your girlfriend at the top of the level and you have to try to save her. Use the stairs to get closer to your girlfriend, but watch out for the balls and other stuff the gorilla is throwing down. You can use the hammer to destroy the balls, but when you have the hammer, you can't climb the stairs.
This game is very fun to play and the graphics really made me think I played the old classic game. Although it might get frustrating after playing this game a while, I enjoyed playing it. If you like classic games, you should also try this game, it's very good.
Reviewer: Dos-Games-Online Champ Kong is a fairly good Donkey Kong clone from the eighties. Nintendo was the original maker of the Donkey Kong series, which was actually the first game in history to introduce what would become one of the world’s most famous plumbers, Mario. In this game, as in the original Donkey Kong, he goes by the name of Jumpman. True to all of the CHAMP games remakes (courtesy of the ChamProgramming Corporation), Champ Kong is a great clone of the original with a few added tweaks and bells, and of course some additional levels to make sure the action extended beyond what was offered by the original game. This version was released as shareware in the middle nineties and was only for play on the DOS operating system.
For those of you in the gaming community who are unfamiliar with the classic game, Donkey Kong, the story goes like this: Mario’s lovely blonde girlfriend (who incidentally goes by a variety of names also) has been kidnapped by the evil renegade ape, Donkey Kong. It will be up to Mario to navigate through the various platforms, avoiding obstacles and enemies, to rescue her and bring her safely back home.
Champ Kong is a two-dimensional platform game that plays from the third person’s perspective. This game offers two different modes of play, the first being the “Classic” mode, which will give the user a game that is perfectly synonymous to the original arcade Donkey Kong. The second method of play is “CHAMP” mode. This version of the game is where the user will find the upgrades, including the bonuses and different levels to play.
Basically, Mario will have to run back and forth on what is meant to represent a series of girders holding up a skyscraper. The ape holds the girl at the top of the tower, and he will have to scale ladders in order to get closer and closer to her. Along the way, there will be a great plenty of obstacles. He will have to jump over the barrels the ape is launching at him. Kong will also throw fireballs. Mario can pick up a hammer to smash obstacles and will also find some surprise bonuses in this clever version of the arcade classic. Overall, this is a great remake that will add a few extra twists and turns to the game. Since it also gives the gamer the option of playing in classic mode, he has nothing to lose by giving it a go.
