Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure is another good Apogee oldie. As most of the Apogee games have, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure has a good story behind it. Cosmo is a young Alien on his way to visit Disney World with his parents. But their ship is struck by a comet, which forces them to land on a uncharted planet. His dad will repair the ship and Cosmo finds something to do. He's going to explore the planet. That's where the game starts, you are playing with Cosmo and you have explore the planet.
But, it still isn't the end of the story. It goes on when you explored the planet. When Cosmo turns back to the place where the ship landed, his mom, his dad and the ship are gone! Cosmo will do everything to rescue his parents.
Although I never played this game before. But when I downloaded it from Apogee1.com, I was addicted to this game. The graphics are good, gameplay is good too and the story is IT that makes the game great. It really is a great game so download it if you like Apogee games.

Cosmo's Cosmic Adventue is an excellent game from the 1990's. It follows the storyline of a young alien boy (Cosmo) and his parents traveling to Disney World, when their spacecraft crashes on an alien planet. Cosmo abandons the wreck to go exploring only to return to find his parents taken by monsters! So you, as Cosmo must fight aliens, and collect bonuses on your way to saving your parents. It is an excellent side-scrolling platform game, with quite good graphics for its time. (As the game was released in the 1990's you cannot expect quality graphics like the ones seen one Playstation 3's and Xboxes, however the graphics are better than many of the other games from theat period of time).
It is the ONLY game I remember from when I was a child, and this website has allowed me to spend many more hours playing it. Walking, Running, Jumping or Using the weird suction cups on your hands to climb you complete such levels as a FORBIDDEN FOREST, a SPACE themed level, hidden caverns and many, many others...
Its simplicity allows it to be an excellent game, reminding us all of our childhood, before everything was fancy and high-tech. This version of the game has only ten levels, (not including the fantastic bonus stages) but each one challenges you and can take quite a long time. You can also add hours onto gameplay time, by collecting such items as Apples, strange alien fruit, stars, and others, defeating the evil monsters like Ghosts, Birds, Minature dinosaurs and many more...
It also features very simple controls, taking use of the arrow keys, the ctrl and alt keys. The alt key allows you to deploy your only weapon, however it is a very effective one, the good old 'Count down from 3 Bomb'... You must take advantage of these to win the game. Your only other weapon is to jump on the back of enemies. (Just like Super Mario).
I suggest you download this game, it will remind you of a better time, a simpler time when Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure was the fanciest game. In all, I would give this game an 8 out of 10 for DOS games, and a 6 out of 10 for all games, including the latest ones. This game certainly has not gotten worse with age, and is one of the few games that has survived the test of time.
