Graphics are primitive yet clear and well-drawn for proper gameplay. PC Speaker sound may be irritating for some. Lots of quick action and fun as you try to shoot the disc in the opponents net. Menu interface may be a little confusing. May be hard to learn, but if you stay at it long enough, you should enjoy it. It is generally easier than other hockey-related games.
And the entire arena in one screen really helps since many hockey games have scrolling screens. The goalie is a lot easier to control without being distracting. All in all, a well made hockey game.
While this game may take a while to get used to, it is worth a try.
Reviewer: j0sh90 This hockey game is a bit different than others that I・ve seen recently. The graphics aren・t great, and it is absolutely nothing like the NHL Hockey games I・m sure we・re all used to of today. Though this game・s older, it is very addicting, and it・ll have you wanting to play it for hours. Being a player of highschool hockey myself, I find older sports games like this very amusing. Everyone is so used to the XBOX 360 and PS3 nowadays that none of us have time to come onto DOS games and find old favorites like this. I'm not a frequent game reviewer, but I cannot seem to write enough about this. Not only is it easy to understand, it is a game for all ages to play and be entertained by. Young kids will enjoy it, once they get past the fact that it's way behind the times. Hopefully there are more games such as this out there (that I have yet to find) that are exactly like this, if not very similar. The entire arena shown in the screen makes it easier to see what's going on, and is exactly the same as a game of air hockey, but on a smaller scale. The disc is difficult to distinguish from the other pieces sometimes, but it's a great game, cannot stress it enough. Play this game if you've got some extra time on your hands. It's not hard to get good at, and there's plenty of entertainment for long periods of time. The game description says this is hard to learn, but I believe exactly the opposite. The menu interface is fine as well, PLAY THIS GAME. It's fun to play as the goalie and the players as well. Simple as a click of a button to play. This game was released in my birth year, 1992, and although it's that old, it's fun to pretend to be in a hard fought game of today between any of your favorite teams, considering those who play this know something about hockey. You don't have to be a hockey specialist to have fun with this, it'll keep you in your room and in front of your computer for days. On a closing note, this is one of the greatest NES era hockey games I've ever played. I think that although sometimes it gets boring due to the repetitiveness, it's all in all a fun game, and everyone should try it out.
