Re-volt is race game there are 28 cars to choose from and the graphics are great, it is hard to control but is worth the purchase as you will have hours of fun. The game offers lots of speed selection and is really fun. The saving is bad as you can only save when you reach certain point. The game is not as good as modern day race games but it was good for its time.
There other types of modes including combat mode were you destroy each other. When you are racing you can pick up speed booster that will help you heaps as it is hard to control the car. The games has its own track editor which is quite good but it is quite unimaginative.
Reviewer: Dos-Games-Online Rated “E” for everyone, Re-Volt is an interesting, fast paced little remote control car racing game that was developed by Probe Entertainment, Limited and released for play on the personal computer by Acclaim Entertainment, Incorporated in the late nineties. It was also launched to many other formats, including the Nintendo 64 and the Sega Dreamcast. The Playstation and Playstation 2 both saw prequels and sequels to this popular little game. It is a driving game that is played entirely from the third person perspective, and also features the bird’s eye view in the rudimentary level editor and constructor that is included with the game.
Toy-Volt, a popular maker and developer of remote controlled cars has been dazzling buyers all over the world for years with an almost magical ability to find exactly the right toy to release at exactly the right time. In Re-Volt, the user is able to choose from twenty-eight of their creations (as well as five secret ones, if you can find them) and run them on thirteen different tracks. There is also a fourteenth track, which basically serves as a free form arena. Here, the user can perform stunts and simply wheel around wherever he chooses.
All of the tracks feature different fun themes. Since these are actually remote control cars, some of the environments for race tracks can be a little bit off beat. There is a track inside a large department store, for example, with wide but cluttered aisles perfect for racing an R/C car. “Toys in the Hood” runs the cars through a tough neighbourhood filled with many obstacles, ranging from pedestrians to parked cars. Short cuts are usually sidewalks and alleyways. There is a Wild West track, as well as a track editor so users can create their own tracks if they get tired of those provided. All of the tracks feature numerous routes to completion, and they all have the capability of unlocking hidden areas, and even some of the secret cars.
One of the greatest things about Re-Volt is its high replay level. With so many different tracks, so many cars from which to choose, the track editor and the unlockable secrets, the user is not likely to get bored right away. The game also comes in several difficulty settings, and has multiplayer features, so the gamer can play with his friends. It also has two different classes of car, and each car is very individual.
Overall, this is a great racing game, one of the better toy car games on the market, even to date. Its graphics are vivid and colourful and the action is fast and non stop. This is a sure winner for gamers of all ages and should be downloaded immediately.
