This game originally came for the sega. The world is being terrorised by some evil lord and you are some hero that thinks you can handle it on your own. Hack`n slash your way trough countless minions, that aren`t afraid of surrounding a mere one or two heroes, as you come closer and closer to defeating the evil lord and saving the whole world.
If you think that at some time there`s too much for your blade (or axe) to handle, then you can always turn to a more magical approach of things, giving a spectacular show as your enemies are burnt to crisp, boulderbashed, or zapped by lightning. You can also knock an enemy off his beast and control it yourself, a dragon is a strong enemy, but a great ally as well.
The whole game might sound a little cliché, but at that time it was really original :P Double dragon might be a very well known comparison made to the way this game works: you walk the streets and beat up anything that can be beat up.

Reviewer: Dos-Games-Online Golden Axe was a very interesting, the plot kept you interested but still a little basic, it kind of reminded me of Alter Beast or a version of that sort. I recommend this title to any player who enjoys the old sierra text based classics such as quest for glory king's quest. I don't think that these old titles will catch the attention cause of all the new gaming systems entering the market, but some can still find a respect for the older gene of games because of the ability of "open world" was still being introduced. Another game that’s a lot of fun is Earthbound for super Nintendo, it looks like a weird Asian knockoff game but if you give it a minute it has some depth that is very interesting and the replay value is great. I find that some of the newer titles will eventually come back around to some of the earlier genes of games, their one that have stood the test of time.
This game is good and brings a lot of fun. I highly recommend downloading it and enjoy.
