Little Big Adventure

Little Big Adventure is an adventurous based game that combines in several action packed parts and some role-playing. You will be traveling around islands completing tasks on the way. There are some locations in the game that will start off blocked, but as you further along through the game those areas will slowly become unlocked. This gives the gamer a little something to work at so they can get further into the maps unlocking new things, which gives it that adventurous feel that many players enjoy.

This adventurous game tells a story about a young Quetch named ‘Twisen’ who is on a quest to free the people of the planet ‘Twinsun’. At the beginning of the game you will begin to learn about the character ‘Dr FunFrock’ who has taken control of the society and wants to achieve ultimate power over the planet. Your main goal in the game is to overthrow him and ultimately save the day being the hero. With the game you will have an automatic saving system so you will not have to worry if you saved the game and loosing where you were last. This is the benefit if your system all of a sudden shuts down. To start the game you will be required to enter in a name, which will give a name to the players, saved list. Every time you enter into a new area your game will be saved. It would not be possible for the game to be designed to save at just random spots throughout the game, but by copying your saved file list the same functionality will be able to be achieved.
In this game you will be controlling a character called Twinsen. You will do so with the arrow keys. Twinsen has four different behavior modes for this game. The different behaviors consist of normal, athletic, aggressive, and discreet. In normal mode Twinsen has the capability to walk around normally and activate items by executing the action command. You are also able to communicate with other characters in the game and search around in places like trashcans and chests. You will be able to throw a Magic ball with average strength. The attacking action is pretty straightforward.
In athletic mode you are able to run and jump. In this mode when you use weapons you will move very quickly making battles a little faster. You will also be throwing your magic ball further than you would in the normal mode. In this mode you will also be capable of getting hurt if you run into objects, such as a door or wall. Aggressive mode is the mode used for battle. You will be able to defeat enemies using a combination of moves that will cause punches and kicks. With the use of weapons he will start to attack with a little more power than he would with a punch or a kick. The magic ball is once again thrown a little harder in this mode making it go further then in previous modes.
In the mode discreet you will be able to tip toe silently and be able to hide. The use of this mode is great when you need to get past characters that you don’t feel capable of beating. When attacking in this mode you will be attacking very slowly. The magic ball will also now be thrown upwards-killing enemies or activating switches on higher areas. There is also use of vehicles when you encounter them throughout the game. The vehicles will assist in getting around the island quicker or even getting you over to a different island. There is an inventory that you have where you can store objects that you find throughout searching. Each object has its own place in your inventory instead of being automatically assigned to a place.
Little Big Adventure has a 3D perspective that allows all characters, vehicles and including some props throughout the game to have a real 3D base that gives full rotation and movement abilities. There are different scenes divided apart that saves automatically at the end of each scene. When you complete certain tasks you will get the joy of watching a full motion video sequence that also gives this game more appeal and puts more onto the story that is already taking place. For the time when the game was made it is very large. There are eleven different islands and there are over 120 scenes, which can be visited by the player. There are locations in the game that include a desert, snowy mountains, a rebel village under missile attack and a construction site. Each level holding its own secrets giving the game that more adventurous feels. This very adventurous and thrilling game has so many aspects to it that you will enjoy. If you love adventurous games with many unexpected happening Little Big Adventure should be number one on your list of games you should play.
