The Cross Country Canada PC game is a classic game without all the bells and whistles that come with modern day games. The game was made in 1991, back when all graphics were simple, and so too was the game play. I recommend this game for all ages because it is just so simple. You just can't can't beat the two dimensional graphics. Does not everybody miss the times when games were just as simple as the Cross Country Canada game? Many adults played this game, or games just like it, while they were growing up. It is interesting to imagine that games like this were the most fun thing to do at the time, and to think about all the changes that have happened in the gaming world and industry since the nineties. Also, this game is educational because you are studying the landscape and geography of the Canadian Wilderness. You will learn place names, weather patterns, geological shapes, and oh so much more in Cross Country Canada. You type in certain commands to control the truck. For example, you start with your truck completely turned off. You must turn it on to begin the game! Traveling to a specified city is also simple. You are shown a map and you have to type in a command in which direction you must take. It is available for a free downlod on several websites, inculding this one, DOS GAMES ONLINE. No need to be a canadian to play the game, it is addicting no matter your race, age, sex, or ansestry. Designed for students in Canadain schools, this game had took the world by storm, providing education and fun gameplay for all ages, not just students. Although, the game is still used in classrooms around the world, both in Canadian schools, and American schools as well. Also, the game Cross Country Canada 2 is in use in history and geography classrooms around the world as well. Learn about provinces, territories, cities, and more. This program helps players develop skills such as map reading, problem solving, geographic literacy, and decision making. The game also supports a two player mode, which allows two people to race against each other on one computer in game play. By playing this game, a student can become familiar with the Canadian provinces and cities quickly and easily, along with gaining a better understanding of the goods and commodities produced by various regions of Canada.
