Hotel Markets is a classic financial board game in 3d rendered environment. The target of the players is to buy land, apply for building permission, build and upgrade hotels and create as profitable hotel business as possible. The goal is to make more money than other players. This is an entertaining and straight forward monopoly style business game.
Hotel Markets contains 7 varying camera views, 5 cool sound tracks. The graphics are a bit crappy, you can see the pixels even if you don't use your glasses. But it still is a good monopoly style game.
Hotel Markets only has a multiplayer option, it is not possible to play it against the computer.
Reviewer: Simblyne This is a game I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys strategizing, investing, taking risks, and finally reaping the bountiful rewards for their work. From the start, there are five options of very cool sound tracks to accompany the game, namely snazzy, money grubbing, chill, ambiant, and fun loving city, which definitely set a suitable tone for the game. You may also choose not to listen to any music, though. This is a classic family board game, requiring at least two people seated at the computer, although it can support four players at the maximum. As soon as the game begins, a plain, green landscape appears on the screen with the number of human players, each represented by different coloured cars. Every player receives ten thousand dollars in order to start their hotel fortunes. A die is rolled on each turn, and the number that faces upward determines if you're going to build, buy, or do nothing (which is really driving to an empty place), while the cars move around on a single path. And seven different camera views from which the map can be seen certainly sets it apart from the basic board game. You must buy the land first, then apply for building permits, then construct and upgrade your hotels (that do come in many different styles such as Cylinder, President, and Fujiyama), buy entrances to the hotels, and ultimately beat the competition in the hotel business by earning more money than anyone else while ruining them at the same time. Your opponents will stay at your hotels, and when he or she does not have enough money to pay the bill, they go bankrupt, removing themselves from the game. Clearly, the last remaining player is the winner. The graphics are a mix of complex and simple, which is a tad bothersome-- the beautiful trees and pools are strikingly different compared to the simple, elementary shapes of the hotels, map, and little cars. As an added note, the game does appear to have a lot of bugs, which are described on the Game Rules page along with solutions to fix these bugs. Hotel Markets is a fun, challenging game reminiscent of Monopoly where strategy, managing your finances, and running the most profitable hotel business are of the utmost importance. It does seem to be an original and straightforward game, but this does not take away from the fact that it is still very entertaining. Download Hotel Markets (hotelm11.zip)
