Draw poker and Yahtzee combined together for one of the most unique gaming experiences ever. You get 5 cards, choose the ones to throw away, and get replacements for the discarded cards, then choose your scoring area. This is much harder than the original Yahtzee, since your chances of getting a particular dice number are 1 out of 6, while your chances of getting a particular card are 1 out of 52.
There's a picture of Fred Flinstone in the game, but I have no idea what Fred Flinstone has to do with the gameplay...
Well worth a try if you're bored of the normal Yahtzee.
Reviewer: raisemypower This game is very addictive. The first time I played it was a little confusing to get a feel of my surroundings. However, once you read the description and can find your destination on the map, the rest is quite logical. The controls are well suited to their functions, especially the spacebar to shoot. There are about 4 or 5 different ways to get the Forzee through the level which makes playing the second and third time fun as well. Beginners are warned: completing the whole map without dying is near impossible, so keep your eyes peeled for health bars which are often hidden in boxes next to the little green enemies.
The game's graphics are pretty decent by DOS standards. The speed lines and stars when you activate a power flower look really cool. The music on this game could be a bit more varied, as the 8-bit sounds get a bit annoying since the short soundtrack is rather repetitive. However the tune is rather catchy so I could deal with that. Sound effects are quite comical, especially when the Forzee dies by falling off cliffs. The next part of the game gets rather lengthy but is well worth the wait when in the cave levels there are eerie songs and dark caverns to venture through.
A useful feature of this game is the handy hints given at the start of each level so that the player gradually learns about and accesses new actions and items to help the Forzee overcome the various obstacles in enemy and environmental form. The levels are of a good length and increase in difficulty at a rate the user can keep up with as their skill level and confidence with the game grows. Hidden shortcuts waiting to be found throughout the more difficult levels make this a very exciting game as you learn to be more and more observant and suspicious of the worlds around you. The level map is your friend; you use it to locate the exit, power flowers and other minor items, and some of the more prominent enemies when you get near their location.
Overall, I would give Forzee a big thumbs-up. It has excellent game design and is fun to play both for the novice and the more experienced gamer. Download Forzee (forzee.zip)
