When Namco released the arcade Pac-Man in 1980, it created a video gaming revolution as countless quarters were spent to eat dots and avoid/eat "ghosts". And like many arcade mega-hits, Pac-Man spawned numerous clones and remakes, including this DOS game called ACK! Man. Gameplay is almost identical to the original Pac-Man, your goal is to navigate a yellow ball named ACK! Man through a maze to eat all the dots. There are 4 "ghosts" that try to destroy you, there are 4 big dots in the 4 corners that make you invincible for a short time.
If you don't already have a Pac-Man like game, you can download this freeware one to save your quarters.
Reviewer: mgerych Ack Man is a fun game a lot like the classic Pacman game found in just about every other arcade, bar, and roller rink.
You are a little round muncher who likes to much up dots and little ghosts that try to eat him. You have to get around trying to munch up every single one of the little dots to end the level and to move on to the next. As the levels increase in number the difficulty increases as well. The little ghost move and groove faster as does your little round muncher. each time he gobbles up one of the bigger blinking dots it moves your yellow round guy faster and the ghost become edible to earn you extra points, however once you eat one of the ghost, they then, in turn, give you point, but then turn into bad guys again.
The color contrast is nice and won't strain your eyes too much. Dark background and a bright Ack Man and nicely hued ghost. It's rather fun, fairly mindless, a good time killer and work waster. Worth your time.
