Hoop

This is yet another unique playing card strategy game. The help menu provides a decent explanation of how you play. Primitive, somewhat pixelated graphics may turn some off. You go up against 3 computer players in the quest to get rid of all of your cards.

If you like strategy card games like Hearts/Bridge/Crib/etc.
this game may appeal to you.

Do not underestimate the power of Hoop. Once you start, you may initially be put off by the simplicity of the graphics. The gameplay will grab you if you are willing to invest the time to learn the game. The rules are easy to understand and the gameplay becomes increasingly addictive. At first, you may be reminded of the first few times you played solitare, where you might get frustrated and start over again and again. You may want to do that here, too. Once you get the hang of this game, you'll find yourself playing again and again.
The gameplay evolves slowly with a wide-open range of playing options. However, as the play progresses, you'll be left with fewr and fewer options. This forces the clever player to carefully consider each card. If you don't then you may be limiting your future options. But this is reflective of life itself, isn't it? Sometimes after a choice is made, you simply cannot go back.
How hard is it to get rid of your cards? Not very. But be assured that your 3 computer enemies are trying to do the same thing! Now really, what would a card game be if you were playing by yourself? It would be solitaire. The beauty of this game is you still play with yourself, but you also get to play with 3 other "computer players." I don't see them that way. When I play, sometimes I think of them as my mom, my dad, and my sister. We would have the best time playing hearts on hot summer days when I was growing up. We would always sit youngest to oldest around the table, so I pictured my dad on the left, my mom across and my sister to the right. Could you guess that I'm the youngest? When I win at Hoop, I do the same little Ya-ya-ya (rhymes with rah-rah-rah) chant that I used to do after winning hearts.
If I was going through a losing spell, sometimes I would think that the "computer Players" were robots and I was playing this game to save my own life. Against ROBOTS. When you think about it, you try a lot harder when you think you are about to die. To even the odds in my head, sometimes I would make myself out to be like Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween (the original, not the crappy remake). She was super tough, even though she was scared out of her mind. Stay with me.. When I'm playing like Jamie Lee Curtis, I see the other ROBOT players as even more maniacal versions of Michael Meyers, but robot versions of him. I'm sure you get the picture.
Would I be this passionate about such a seemingly simple game if it weren't so darn fun? No. You should play this game and enjoy it. I know you will. And if you let your imagination wander, you may find fun memories of your youth too, while playing Hoop. God Bless.
