Caesar takes you back to the time when Caesar lived and was king of a large kingdom. In this game, your job is to govern your province efficiently. The main job is to design the capital city of your province, like building houses, a water-supply system, industry and much more other things that can make your province a wealthy province or a poor one.

The graphics are pretty nice, either is the gameplay.
The game seems to have everything: a good story, nice graphics and a good gameplay. In my opinion the game misses something that keeps you playing. I don't know what it is, but for the first 30 minutes / first hour, this game may be pretty fun to play.

Caesar was a simulation game from Impressions Games that was released in the early nineties. With very few differences, it is practically a Sim City clone, and plays very similarly to the age old strategy favorite, only Caesar features an obviously Roman theme and also offers a militaristic aspect.
When Caesar begins, the user is a governor within a small province of the larger empire. He is trying to get noticed by the empire in order to rise in the political ranks and be given tougher assignments to govern. Fortunately, he has a number of slaves under his command that can help him as he plans his city to be a smoothly running, efficient work of art. His brains…their brawn. While planning the city, Caesar has to bear in mind many of the factors from the traditional Sim City games, such as building public buildings that are easily accessed by all and can help to improve culture, such as museums and libraries. The children of Rome must be educated and need enough schools to accomplish this task. Bathhouses are not very popular in posh residential neighborhoods. While there are no issues such as pollution from factories or congested turnpikes to deal with, Caesar has enough problems in his own time period. He will hold periodic forums to gain input from his people and learn what is important for them to remain happy and approve Caesar’s rule. Angry peasants do not move away from the city, decreasing population, as they do in Sim City. Instead, they riot. Raging barbarian hordes and taxes always seem to anger the populace, so handle them wisely.
With each city, Caesar is assigned a specific goal and when he accomplishes this task, he moves on to bigger and better things, simulating his rise in the Roman political machine. Sometimes the goals may be as simple as gaining enough resources to build X or attracting a population of N. The goals get bigger and harder and work like levels in a game. Each mission will give him points in prosperity, peace and culture, and by raising these attributes, he will become more popular and come closer to his ultimate goal of becoming Emperor of Rome.
Overall, this is a fun little Sim City clone with a great historical theme and look. It is a satisfying play and is recommended for download.
