Chickens 2 is the sequel to Chickens, a crazy game by Brain Child Design. You have to kill the chickens which are walking around on your screen by dropping bombs on them. That's all. No difficult gameplay or what, just click your left mouse button to kill those little chickens.
The graphics of chickens are nice, and if you liked Chickens, you will also like this game. If you haven't played Chickens, you should try this game anyway because it's very fun to play for a while.
Reviewer: Dos-Games-Online “When I released the first chickens game, some people said that the game was cruel and that the whole idea of blowing up chickens were bad. Therefore I've added this note: Absolutley NO chickens were harmed in the production of this game! I do not wish to hurt or create uncomfort for any chickens. The chickens in this game are NOT REAL and have no feelings whatsoever. Ok, now you can blow up those virtual chickens without getting a bad conscience”
How funny is that disclaimer? It is a true-to-life notice that could actually be found in the Read-Me file of Chickens 2, the freeware release from the late nineties. Created and published by Brainchild Design and written by gaming author, Martin Magnusson, Chickens 2 was created explicitly for play on the personal computer, specifically the DOS operating system. It is the sequel to the original Chickens game that hit the video gaming scene a couple years previously. It is an action game, filled with the mindless violence of the shooter genre.
Chickens 2 features some different game play from the original Chickens game. The latest Chickens 2 game does not allow the user to have an unlimited number of bombs to destroy the invading chickens. The original Chickens featured all unlimited ammunition and absolutely senseless carnage. Chickens 2 offers “regulated” carnage by limiting the number of bombs available to drop on the chickens. Chickens 2 also features a point and click interface, allowing the gamer to use the mouse to kill the chickens. The goal of this true sequel, however many changes there have been, remains the same: kill the chickens, kill the chickens, and when you are done killing chickens….kill some more chickens. The fewer chickens that survive each wave, the bigger your score.
Realistically, the game does have degrees of difficulty to give it some semblance of depth. With each ensuing level, the chickens are more plentiful and seem to be a bit quicker, making them more difficult to destroy. Even as the bird numbers increase, the game play really does not change, neither does the scenery, or the point of the game. It is repetitive and stupidly violent, but somehow morbidly addictive.
Chickens 2 is not a game for the gamer looking for a brain-stimulating, ever-changing play. It is definitely a stress-reliever, not a cerebral challenge. If you are having a bad day at work, killing a chicken may be the answer to blow off some steam in an unconventional way.
