This game is based on a classic tabletop game of the same name. Drop your pieces down the columns, try to get 4 of your pieces together in a straight line. There is no computer player, it's a 2 player game only. Graphics are very ancient. Overall, a decent game with a tacky layout (too bad there's no computer player, oh well).

Reviewer: Syralax43 Connect Four is an extremely fun game that allowed a person to compete against another player or the computer. The object of the game was to get four consecutive chips in a row. They can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. This game is very similar to tic-tac-toe. However, connect four is a longer and more mentally challenging game. The player needs to be aware of every possible score from the opponent. This includes making sure that an aggressive move by yourself does not lead to helping another player. The trick to the game was that you had to build the chips up from the bottom. For example, The first player of the game would drop a chip and the chip dropped to the bottom row. Unlike the game of tic-tac-toe, you cannot pick any space to put your chip.
Unlike the new games of Connect Four, the old version of the game did not have great graphics. It was based off of a basic system using colored zero's for each players chips. The new visually graphic versions use graphical chips. However, it is completely a joy to play the classic version of connect four. The old game brings back the old memories of everyone's childhood.
The thing that I liked most about Connect Four was the mental competition in the game. Unlike tic-tac-toe where the players need to be lucky and get certain places immediately, there is time to block your opponent and reattain a good position to win the game. It is even more challenging than tic-tac-toe to end the game in a tie. Most times, there is a back door victory in connect four. A player will be concentrating on their goal to win, but when they are not paying attention, the other player will typically find a way to win the game.
In summary, Connect Four is a classic game from the origin of computers. It is one of the games that everyone goes back to and plays even when they are grown up. Although the original dos format of the game did not come with all the beautiful graphical enhancements, it still was a fun game to play back in the day. I remember my mornings in elementary school, where we were just sit at the old mac computers taking turns playing all the old Mac games. I recommend this game for any child or any generation.
