Ms Pac PC, a remake of the classic Miss Pacman game. The real nostalgic feeling comes up when you play this game. The graphics are so... what's the best way to describe them. They're very good. Same with the gameplay which is very good too. The intention seems clear to me. Walk around, eat the dots and don't let the ghosts get you.
You might like to try this game for a real nostalgic feeling. It's certainly worth the download.
Reviewer: Aang1 Ms. Pac PC is a clone of the original Ms. Pac Man, and it gets it pretty good.
You start the game and the first thing that you see is a relatively nice little title screen, using lots of colors and bubbly text, and then when you get to the menu, you can change a lot of settings, from controls, to whether or not your character goes fast or not, if you have a joystick plugged in, then it will automatically detect it. It has a 2 player mode, which is pretty nice, but you can still play the good old fashioned 1 player mode that I know and love, and it does it well. It retains the nice colors and graphics of the original Ms. Pac Man down to the very pixel, and it retains the sound, as well.
So those are the pros, so here are the cons:
The game is just like the original, down to the point of not doing anything new, so other than the title screen, you could be sure that you were playing the same exact game, the joystick control is funky and unresponsive, so you will end up playing with the keyboard anyway, and the creators, even though they made a nice title screen, didn't bother to improve on the graphics in any way, shape, or form, and when you start the game, the default setting is where Ms. Pac man goes as slow as regular Pac Man, which is not the way the original game was at all, and finally, the game scrolls the board, so you may not know where the ghosts are if they are on the other side of the game board or not.
It was still a pretty good game, though; When I first got it, I was like "oh no, it's another ho-hum wannabe pac man game." But from the beginning, I knew that I was getting into something better, from the true-to-the-original game layout, to the joystick opportunities, and to the nice addition of the ribbon that a lot of clones forget about, it was a great game to play and replay.
So in conclusion; if you like Pac Man, or Ms. Pac Man, you don't mind a little strange joystick controls, you like authentic sounds, and you don't want to spend $100 or more to buy an arcade game that may be dysfunctional, then try this game, and you will love it, I know I did.
P.S:The game doesn't run in XP or Vista, so whip out that DOSBox and you will be fine.
