EGA Pyramid is a solitaire card game that uses the standard 52-card deck. A group of cards is arranged in a triangle (pyramid) and the object is to get rid of all cards (both in the pyramid and in the deck). To do this, drag and drop a pair of cards that add up to 13 (example drag a 7 on top of a 6, both cards are eliminated). Kings are 13, just click on them, Queens are 12, Jacks are 11, number cards are equal to their respective numbers, and the Ace is 1. This is one of the harder solitaire games, chances of winning are pretty slim but keep playing and most likely you'll win at least once (I won about 5 times or more myself).
If you like solitaire card games, this game is worth a download.
Reviewer: discgolfer Pyramid Solitaire is a timeless game of math and whit. You may have played this game before on one of those touch-screen bar-top arcades. The object of the game is simple: to get to 13. Yup! That’s it!
Since Pyramid Solitaire is a rather simple game, there are not many options to change the format. Under the RULES button, you will find an option to change the background color. Pick whichever color appeases you. I found the black background makes things easier on your eyes. There is also an option to go through the deck once or endless times. Start by going through the deck endless, when you are ready for a challenge, change this option to only once through.
After playing this game a couple of times, I really started to get the hang of what numbers added together equal 13. Unfortunately, there is no timer on the game face itself. Challenge yourself to beat it in-between commercial breaks. If you are really up to the challenge, you can try to beat it before your microwave popcorn is done.
If you reach the top of the pyramid and win, unlike your Windows version of Solitaire, your cards do not flow like waterfalls from their piles, nor do fireworks burst in the background, nor does a banner fall saying; Congratulations! You have to give yourself a good old fashioned pat on the back and know that you dominated the Solitaire Pyramid! (Who needs the fanfare anyway right? We wouldn’t want your genius from beating this game going to your head.)
Now for a history lesson on old computer games. This game provides just that. Click on the INFO button on the game-face, look toward the bottom of the screen and read how the creator made this game. If you were wondering where EGA comes from? It actually means Enhanced Graphics Adapter. Type that into Wikipedia and see what comes up. You may appreciate playing this game after reading up on how EGA’s work. Have fun playing EGA Pyramid!
