Manic Miner is a remake by Andy Noble from the original games that is published in 1983. You are miner Willy and you have to collect treasures in the mines before you used all your air. While you are collecting these treasures, other creatures will try to kill you.
Manic Miner has nice graphics, good gameplay and sounds. If you liked playing the old version of Manic Miner, I'm sure you'll also like this version.
Reviewer: Dos-Games-Online Manic Miner by Alchemist Research is a fun platform game that was released in the nineties. This game is actually a remake of a game that was created for the Sinclair ZX-Spectrum and released in 1983.
The game plays smoothly giving the players a fantastic gaming experience. The game is composed of twenty great levels represented by different caverns so you are sure to enjoy the game and not get sick of it should you decide to play the game over and over. The game also has very good music and sound effects. These were the game’s best features when it was released. The graphics of the game is pretty simple and dated but it works for the game.
In the game you need to lead the protagonist Miner Willy in many levels as he goes through a fantastic treasure hunt. Miner Willy discovers a series of caverns he believes to be part of an ancient civilization. He then discovers some valuable ores inside the cavern so Miner Willy decides to go inside to further explore and to gain money from this little adventure. The problem is the series of caverns are still protected by guardians and the whole place is littered with booby traps and other obstacles that are meant to prevent men from abusing the place.
Now Miner Willy has to collect all of the treasures while avoiding all the traps and overcoming all the obstacles within a given time frame. The underground caverns have very limited oxygen so the longer Miner Willy stays inside the more depleted his breathing air becomes. Miner Willy needs to collect all the keys that will open up the next level.
As the game progresses the obstacles become more difficult to avoid and the game’s pace become faster. The game is really fun to play. It deserves to be considered a classic because it is timeless. Many people enjoyed it when it was first released in the eighties and many more enjoyed it in the nineties. Today, more than a decade before the last version was released there are still countless people who enjoy it including me. This is a great game that you can download and play with the whole family and with friends. I remember being a kid and just getting a major kick out of beating the neighborhood kids in the game. Now I still enjoy the game with my nephews and nieces and they get a great laugh out of doing better in some levels of the game than me.
