Mortal Kombat is an agressive game. Your task is to defeat your enemies. You can do that with special movements and some other tricks.

The graphics of Mortal Kombat are very nice, and the gameplay too. There is sounds in this game, but when you run the game on Windows XP the sounds may be very crap or it's silent.

If you like boxing and fighting, you might like this game.
If you're sick of all the violent in games etc. you'd rather download another game.

Mortal Kombat was one of the true classic beat-em-up games! One of the first beat-em-ups to have real life 3D graphics and the excellent addition of "fatality" to really rub the salt into your mate's wounds once you have already beaten him/her. It was an excellent game given the limited capabilities of the time it was released. The game includes a variety of hidden extras and the numerous hidden cheats, enabling you to unlock otherwise unavailable characters and fighting arenas.
My favourite character was Liu Kang due to his ability to fight and hit combos both on the floor and in the air. He also had the best fatality to use on the level with the bridge (keep your eyes peeled on the moon in the background as well). However, for sheer out and out style, Subzero was pretty awesome. With the ability to freeze your opponent, and a literally spine tingling fatality, he was a "cool" character. Needless to say, the final boss, Guru, was pretty mean, but very beatable.
Mortal Kombat was definitely one of the best beat-em-ups available on computer. In comparison to the classic Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat offers a much gorier and more real life game, with a quality soundtrack! The soundtrack was actually pretty decent and helped provide atmosphere to a decent game.
To summarise, the original Mortal Kombat was without doubt a classic game and helped propel beat-em-ups into a new era. In comparison to its rival, Street Fighter 2, MK provided a much more real life and much bloodier alternative to the cartoon style of Street Fighter. The fatality addition provided an additional extra once the match had been finished, something that no previous beat-em-up had attempted.
